Your privacy

Effective October 26. We collect only what we need to welcome you well, keep you safe, and stay in touch if you ask us to. We never sell your information. This policy is also available in ASL or another format on request.

Who we are

The Wild Cypress (Wild Cypress, Inc.) offers nature and forest therapy, retreats, training, and consulting. Questions about this policy? Send us a message through the contact form.

What we collect, and why

Messages you send. When you use our contact form, we receive your name, email, and message so we can reply.

Newsletter. If you sign up, we keep your name and email to send our newsletter through Kit. Every email has an unsubscribe link.

Bookings and payments. When you book a session or event, we receive your name, email, and the time you choose. Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.

Access and communication needs. We may ask how you communicate and what access you need, such as ASL, ProTactile, captions, an interpreter, or mobility support. We use this only to plan your experience, and we share it only with the people needed to provide that access, such as an interpreter.

Health and safety forms. For retreats and longer sessions, we ask about health conditions, allergies, and an emergency contact. This form is confidential. Only our guide and safety staff see it, and we use it only to keep you safe and adapt activities. We delete health forms 2 years after the event unless needed for an incident record.

Photos and video. With your permission, we may photograph or film events and share images on our website and social media. You can say no at any time, and you can change your mind later. Just let us know, and we will stop using your image in new materials and remove it from our website and social media where we can.

Our guide directory. Guides choose what appears in their listing, such as name, region, languages, and contact link, and can update or remove it at any time.

Website basics. Like most websites, our host automatically records basic technical information such as browser type and general location to keep the site running and secure. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which uses no cookies, and we also keep our own basic visit counts: only daily totals, the pages viewed, and the websites that sent visitors here. Embedded videos from YouTube or Vimeo may set their own cookies under those companies’ policies. We also count, anonymously, which option visitors choose under “Which are you?” on our Learn page, so we can see who our training reaches. This count is not linked to your name, email, or any other personal information.

Who we share it with

We do not sell, rent, or trade your information. We share it only with the services that help us run The Wild Cypress (such as Google Workspace, Kit, Stripe, and our website host), with interpreters or co-facilitators when needed for your access, or when the law or an emergency requires it.

Children

Our website is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information online. For family events, a parent or guardian registers and provides any details about their child.

How long we keep it

We keep information only as long as we need it for the reason we collected it, or as the law requires. Signed waivers and payment records may be kept longer for legal and tax reasons.

Your choices

You can unsubscribe from emails at any time. You can also ask us to show you, correct, or delete the information we hold about you, or withdraw your photo consent. Send us a message through the contact form, and we will respond within 30 days.

Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, we will change the effective date at the top of this page.
